MAROONED
A series of short films about Maroon forest-based traditions

As plans go forward for the development of the Cockpit Country Protected Area, the forest-based traditions and customary practices that are central to Maroon culture remain unknown to the wider public.
This series of shot films, funded in part by UCL Centre for Critical Heritage Studies, showcases some of these centuries-old practices before they are subsumed by modernisation and development, in an attempt to both preserve these cultural practices and to educate conservation stakeholders about the importance of indigenous knowledge.
The current film list is as follows:
1. Agriculture
2. Hunting
3. Crafts
4. Wayfinding
Below is a short clip (rough cut) of one of the pre-credit scenes (apologies, some of the quality has been lost in compression - I will re-upload soon!)
